Ebere Igboko, PhD

Dr. Ebere Igboko has 25+ years of experiencing leading complex organizations and projects in the global pharmaceutical industry.  Ebere’s industry career spans continents – Africa, North America, Europe, and Asia, and multiple therapeutic areas.   Ebere spent the first 15 years of her career designing and guiding the execution of Global R&D development programs and novel healthcare management systems.  During the last decade Ebere has lived in Shanghai, China and Lagos, Nigeria leading Global R&D efforts for GlaxoSmithKline and serving as Managing Director / CEO of Neimeth Plc. (formerly Pfizer), respectively.  While in China, Ebere successfully supported the establishment and build-out of GlaxoSmithKline’s R&D Center in China and successfully built “The China Knowledge Center”, an innovative healthcare information system with comprehensive information on the Chinese pharmaceutical landscape, including disease epidemiology and drugs in development by multinational and local companies

 

In addition to these experiences, Dr. Igboko has designed and implemented cutting edge healthcare information and care management systems that have been utilized to help transform care for several therapeutic areas, including the development and clinical implementation of CHORUS (Collaborations in HIV Outcomes Research/US), a joint venture between GSK and public/private partners.  With CHORUS, Ebere pioneered the use of real-time electronic medical records in HIV research and co-authored many publications, abstracts, and presentations resulting from analyses of CHORUS data.

 

Ebere graduated from the University of Nigeria with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and obtained a Master of Science degree and a PhD in Pharmacy Administration from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
